Crossing Paths.

You know those people you cross paths with? The ones you don’t know more than the couple minutes you spend with them? Yeah, those ones, the random people we just have random conversations with and continue on with our lives. Some of those couple minute people that we cross paths with leave such valuable advice or lessons that you were not even expecting to get. Funny thing is, you don’t even know their name and you’d probably never even see them again, but because of that little bit of advice they gave you, you could never forget them. Not that you can’t forget them, you don’t want to forget them. We know people for years and we wish we’d have a power to just erase them from our memories. But then there are the once in a lifetime people. The couple minute people. This man I crossed paths with earlier this year is one of them. I randomly ended up in his shop with my mom and he just looked at me with a concerned look. Like a fatherly look who knows exactly what is hurting you. He asked my mom to forgive him because he wanted to give her daughter advice and she laughed and told him it’s her pleasure she’d never find offense to wisdom. He then looked at me with the warmest smile and said, “my daughter, I want you to take this advice from me, you are not a powerless person, learn to stand with a confident posture. Stand strong and when you talk, talk loud and confident. You are not weak and never let anyone make you feel weak.” This bit of advice was so meaningful to me. Sometimes I don’t pay attention with how I stand or how I present myself and I know I’m not the only one guilty of this. Stand firm and speak confident. Don’t let anyone ever think you are a weak person. You have no reason to be anything but confident. Like I’ve said before a part of traveling is growing. Let yourself grow with every bit of wisdom you receive.
